Aspiring ice hockey star Kirsten Deighton is ready to display her skills on the world stage.
The Immanuel College pupil has been picked to represent Great Britain’s Under-18s women’s for the upcoming Four Nations tournament.
Team GB travel to Hungary next month for games against Belgium, Slovakia and the host nation.
Deighton, who plays her club hockey for Kingston Diamonds in Hull, has proved to be an integral part of the team.
The sixth-form student has also proved equally adept as a teacher, helping develop young hockey talent through her coaching work with Bradford Bulldogs’ Under-10s side.
A sports ambassador for her school, Deighton’ s efforts haven’t gone unnoticed, allowing here to gain crucial backing for her trip to Hungary.
Local firm S and T Glazing have offered to sponsor her, providing financial backing for what would otherwise be a costly venture.
