BRADFORD Bulldogs ground out a much-needed win at home to Altrincham Aces at Bradford Ice Arena in National Ice Hockey League North Two (Laidler).
Player-Coach Andy Brown opened the scoring in the first period and the Bulldogs took control.
The Aces levelled early in the second period but goals from Liam Salt and David Kamenicek put the home side back in the lead by the end of the second period.
Altrincham started the third period positively and levelled the game at 3-3 with less than seven minutes to play but again the Bulldogs rallied, and two goals from Stefan Pristas ensured that they got the win 5-3.
The Bulldogs are at home to Hull Jets on Saturday (5pm).
