BRADFORD Bulldogs are celebrating after a record 25 of their players were selected to represent the Northern Conference in an Inter-Conference Tournament in Sheffield.
The players, who were aged from nine to 16, were picked at either under-11s, under-13s, under-15s or under-17s level to compete against other regions – namely the South East, South West, Midlands and Scotland – in what is a showcase event.
The fact that Bradford Ice Hockey Club are small, with only around 50 registered players, and have had 25 selected is testament to both the quality of their coaching and the quality of their youngsters.
They have weekly training sessions at Bradford Ice Rink and also attend an annual ice hockey camp.
The selection is just the latest in a number of successes for the club, including having Thornton Grammar School pupil Kieran Brown getting down to the final ten in the GB skills competition for next year's Junior Winter Olympics.
