The winner of the Evening League is E Harrison with 160 points, with C Ward runner-up on weight after a tie on points with M Raymond. C Bolton had a good catch of roach while fishing at Apperley Bridge with individual fish to 1lb.
BRADFORD No1 AA
Round four of this year’s Calder League was won by Calder 8’s Pete Baron with 11 chub for 33lb 4oz. Bradford’s Jamie Houlders caught 18lb 8oz of grayling for second, followed by Dave Armitage with 17lb 8oz. Mirfield were the winning team on the day with 38 points. The next round is on Sunday, September 30. Tickets are still available for the Calder Championships on Sunday, which has a guaranteed first prize of £500. Call Simon on 01274-571175 for details. WASHBURN VALLEY
The heaviest fish caught during the week was a 3lb 14oz rainbow trout by N Stodard using minki. Fewston, Swinsty & Thruscross: It has been a strange week in the Washburn Valley, with fish rising and taking buzzers from the surface but all those caught have been on weighted lures fished slow and deep. Catch details (week ending September 16) – Day ticket: Fewston 8, Swinsty 3; total fish caught: Fewston 23, Swinsty 7; average per rod: Fewston 2.8, Swinsty 2.3.

All the association’s waters are producing good catches and are all well worth a visit this weekend. Result of latest Open match held at Brampton Farm: 1 D Hare Knaresborough 5lb 2oz, 2 C Pitman Bradford City 4lb 8oz, 3 F Prudham Bradford 3lb 14oz. Our annual general meeting takes place at Laisterdyke Cricket Club next Wednesday (7.30pm). Members are reminded that yearbooks will be requested from those attending. Refreshments will be provided.

Club member John Wilcox, fishing in the Whitby September festival, landed a ling of 21lb 5oz on Richard Ward’s boat ‘Shy Torque 2000’ to win the daily prize of £50. He is also currently in line to win the overall festival prize of £1000 for the heaviest fish of the tournament, which finishes on Sunday. The trip to Rhyl on Sunday is full and members should call Dave on Saturday night at about 7pm for a weather report.

FIELD AC
Members competing in Sunday’s match on the Ship Inn length of the River Calder should meet in the car park for a 9am draw. We will be fishing from 10am until 3pm. Anyone wanting to book on should let Mick know asap.
