BRADFORD NO 1 AA
The members’ match at Maunby, fished by 37, was won by Geoff Cox with 12lb 15oz. Graham Brammer had 8lb 11oz, followed by Andy Jacques with 7lb 3oz and Andy Fox with 7lb 2oz.
Beal and Birkin is closed on Sunday for the Lower Aire Championship Open, contra to the date printed in the yearbook. Tickets are still available from Simon on 01274-571175 and the draw is at 9.30am at the Jenny Wren Inn, which will be open for breakfasts.
Knotford is fishing very well, with good catches of tench and bream. Barbel and chub are continuing to be caught regularly at Cowthorpe.
Club membership for the rest of the year is now only available online or from the ticket and licence secretary as the receipt books from tackle shops have been collected for audit.
WASHBURN VALLEY FISHERY
Catch details for week ending August 12 – Day ticket: Fewston 21, Swinsty 6, Thruscross (catch & return) 3. Total fish caught: Fewston 82, Swinsty 23, Thruscross 15. Average per rod: Fewston 3.9, Swinsty 3.8, Thruscross 5.0. The heaviest fish caught was a 5lb 4oz blue trout by M Johnson using Black Zulu.
Fewston: Fish still taking nymph just below the surface. Daddy longlegs now drifting across the water. Swinsty: Water levels dropping slowly as fish feed in the shallow margins, taking buzzers. Thruscross: Wild brown trout feeding on midge and spiders below the willow trees.
HEWENDEN AC
Last Wednesday’s match results was: 1 Lee Simpson 3lb 6oz, 2 Julian Harrison 2lb 4oz, 3 Don Highley 1lb. The winner of the summer mini league was Julian Harrison with 38 points. Second was Andrew Healey with 29 and third Don Highley with 21.
The float-only match will be held this Sunday, 9am draw in the car park. The away match will be held at Raygills Fishery on September 2. Anyone wishing to go, please contact John Duncan on 07879-897710 as places are limited.
LISTERHILLS AA
Junior membership is now reduced to £3 for the rest of the year. The draw for saturday's 38th Annual Leeds-Liverpool Canal Championship is at 9am by the road bridge at Rodley. The next river match is on Sunday, August 26 at Ulleskelf.
D Jackson and E Harrison, representing the club in the Leeds Amalgamation match on the Aire and Calder Navigation, were both in the prize list. T Rushworth had a good mixed catch at Pilley’s. Catch reports are welcome.
BIERLEY AC
Thirteen proved a lucky number in last Sunday’s match as it was drawn by Tony Parkin and also drawn as the ‘Golden Peg’. Tony cruised to victory with a mix of bream and tench and picked up just short of £200 for his troubles. Result: 1 T Parkin 10lb 10oz, 2 T Mahon 5lb 7oz, 3 J Simms 5lb 2oz. Cigarette butts still being left at pegs – put them in the bins please!
CLAYTON AC
Result of match on August 11 at Emma’s Lake, Langwith (15 fished): 1 Steff Armitage 53lb 8oz, 2 Jack Hawkins 48lb 8oz, 3 Kevin Murgatroyd 37lb 9oz.
