Nicola Adams’ arm is raised in triumph as she becomes the first ever women’s boxing champion at the Olympic Games.
And Bradford can lay claim to the 29-year-old flyweight’s golden success story, with Adams having honed her skills as a world-beating amateur at Bradford Police Boys’ Club during her time at Bradford College, and more recently at Huggy’s Gym in West Bowling, where she is trained by long-time mentor Alwyn Belcher – who has guided her career since she was 15.
