WASHBURN VALLEY: The heaviest fish caught during the week was a 4lb 6oz blue trout by Steve Wallace using damsel. Fewston & Swinsty: There has been good sport despite the wind and rain. Fish are sitting in deeper water and feeding mid-water as fly hatch as and when things warm up. It’s still mainly lures to catch hungry trout. Thruscross: No anglers have been brave enough to take on the wild northern weather in pursuit of brown trout. Catch details (week ending May 13) – Day ticket: Fewston 22, Swinsty 5; total fish caught: Fewston 107, Swinsty 21; average per rod: Fewston 4.9, Swinsty 4.1.
LISTERHILLS AA: Fish are now beginning to spread out at Rodley. The winner of the open match was E Harrison with 3lb 4oz, a mixed catch including a tench. Other results: 2 M Mannion 2lb 2¼oz, 3 M Moss 1lb 13oz, 4 J Oddy 1lb 7oz, 5 G Kitchen 1lb 4oz. The draw for Sunday’s open match at Rodley is at 11am by the bridge. Contact Graham on 0771-626 4441 for details. On favourable days some good fish are being caught at Pilley’s, including pike to double figures and up to three carp at a sitting. When rubbish bins are full, please take all your litter home.
BRADFORD PALS AC: Sunday’s match is at Lindholme Lakes (Loco Lake). This is also the second round of the club knockout. The cafe opens at 7.20am and the draw will be made at 9am. Remember that you must use their feed pellets. Also, don’t forget to bring two keepnets as anyone who has not got two will not be allowed to fish. This match is now fully booked. The Environment Agency was on site last week to check that all anglers had a current rod licence. It is an offence not to carry it with you when fishing.
GREAT HORTON AC: Last week’s match at Emily Lake on Birkwood Farm was fished in windy conditions. Result: 1 Damon Brophy 14lb 2oz, 2 Paul McCabe 13lb 8oz, 3 Owen Hudspith 11lb 6oz, 4 Joe Falcus 9lb 2oz. The biggest carp of the day, weighing 8lb 3oz, was caught by Paul McCabe. Non-attendance on the day cost the club £28. If you cannot attend, please call the secretary as soon as possible. Those who attended the working party Saturday did well. Thank you but more work still has to be done.
KL TACKLE: Result of first KL Summer League match at Forest Lane, York: 1 Graham Hudson 66lb 10oz, 2 Paul Tate 55lb 8oz, 3 Scott Dodsworth 49lb 9oz, 4 Dave Parky 44lb 13oz, 5 Danny Boland 41lb 6oz. BINGLEY AC: Coppice pond is closed on Sunday for a club match, which draws at 8am on the bank. There are two pegs left for this match. One angler reported a catch of eight tench and two carp, including one of 20lb, this week. Sunnydale is currently fishing well for perch and roach.
