KEIGHLEY AC: There have been bumper catches of grayling on the River Aire now the flooded stretches have subsided. Club member Darren Watson netted a rainbow trout weighing 3lb 2oz. The annual KAC committee match will be fished on Sunday, down-stream on the Aire from Kildwick bridge. Members are requested to leave this stretch vacant on the day. Following an unconfirmed report of live-baiting, club officials are reminding members that this practice is now banned on all KAC waters. Anyone found breaking this rule will be dealt with by the committee.
BRADFORD & DISTRICT SEA AC: Our next general meeting will be on Tuesday, February 14 at the New Inn, East Bierley, starting at 8pm. Please note that subs, at still only £10 per year, are now due. Members who won trophies last year should return them at this meeting so we can get them engraved ready for the presentation evening in March. If there is anyone wishing to join our club, come along and make new fishing friends at this meeting. You will be made most welcome.
HEWENDEN AC: The next pike match is this Sunday, with a 9am draw in the car park. It costs £10 all in and all members are welcome. Would all members please drive carefully along the lane as this has now become muddy and slippy. If there are any proposals for the annual meeting, would you send them in writing to the PO box number in your book or call Ian King (number also in the book) before Thursday, March 1.
GRATTAN AC: Our annual meeting will be held at Fairweather Green WMC on Wednesday, February 22, starting at 8pm. Will all members please return any of their main trophies as these are now going to be held in a cabinet at the club. Many thanks to Pete Frazer for making and fitting the cabinet.
BINGLEY AC: Our next match is on the River Aire in Myrtle Park on Sunday, February 5, drawing at 9am. To book on call C Dine on 01274-569534 or 07954-781992, The next committee meeting is on Tuesday, February 7. Good pike catches have been reported below Five Rise Locks.
LISTERHILLS AA: The next members’ match is at Pilley’s Dam on Sunday, February 5. Juniors may fish in adult matches but are not allowed to enter the sweepstake. Silver fish are being caught on the canal but are slow to respond at Pilley’s.
BRADFORD No1 AA: Widdington Hall is closed on Saturday for an outside booking. Cowthorpe on the River Nidd and Maunby on the River Swale are fishing well for chub up to 5lb. Milby Cut Canal is well worth a visit for nets of roach and perch.
IDLE & THACKLEY AA: There is an open match on the River Swale at Swainby this Sunday. For bookings call 01274-615016. Result of last Swainby match: 1 John Leyland 4lb 4oz, 2 S Anderson 3lb 12oz, 3 D Summers 3lb 2oz.
SALTAIRE AA: Sunday’s match on the river is likely to be on the middle and bottom lengths. To book on call James on 07841-591748.
