Eastburn Amateur Boxing Club in Keighley enjoyed six victories as their annual show at Bradford City’s Valley Parade stadium proved a big hit.
A sell-out crowd were treated to 13 bouts as several host club members made winning debuts.
Among them was 11-year-old Eastwood Primary School pupil Zane Aberdeen, of Keighley, who won his first contest after more than a year’s training.
Other Eastburn boxers claiming victories at the first attempt were Mick Goldie, from Colne, Nathan Midgley, of Bradford, and Graham Smyth, of Skipton.
Arron Jalil, now in his second season, was crowned junior boxer of the night after stopping his opponent.
Ambreen Sadiq, a former national schoolgirl boxing champion, enjoyed a winning return to the ring after a 16-month absence.
The 17-year-old beat the current 52kg national champion, Rebecca Bravender from Crewe.
Eastburn’s Jess Wilson lost her fight with Sandy Ryan, who is a European silver medalist, while there were also defeats for Ben and Robbie Adamson, and Mitchell Lisle.
Keighley Boxing Club fighters were also in action on the night.
Sohail Ayub gained revenge on Dan Hirst in a rematch, producing a superb display, while Karl Harper stopped his opponent Neil Ward.
Eastburn coach Naz Jalil declared the event a huge success.
He said: “It was a sell-out crowd and a fantastic night. The judges said they were all even bouts. We are already on the way to being sold out for next year’s show.”
