Local knowledge proved key for Bingley’s Rob Watson (Paul Milnes-Bradford Olympic RT) when he won the seventh round of the Yorkshire Points Series.
The 20-year-old, who lives about a mile from the Myrtle Park course, took a solo victory after escaping from his breakaway rivals to secure his second win in the series.
Endura star Ian Wilkinson, from Barnoldswick, was second, with Craven Tri’s Ian Taylor of Cononley third.
In the veterans’ race, Keighley’s Chris Young powered home, lapping all but the first seven riders.
Louise Robinson, from Mirfield, had a convincing win in the equivalent women’s race, finishing a superb tenth overall, while Seb Marsh (Paul Milnes-Bradford Olympic RT) won the youth race from Bronte Wheelers’ Alfie Moses, who took the under-14 prize.
