Bradford Dragons maintained their impressive form in EBL Division One with a 110-77 win over London Leopards in their highest league score of the season.

A buzzer-beating double from Vance Silcott saw Dragons move 24-20 ahead at the first break as the home crowd scarcely had time to catch breath after the furious pace of the first period.

Dragons began to dominate the second quarter to lead 52- 40 at half-time with a last-second tip-in for two from Silcott.

With the Dragons’ defence defiant, their offence hit crucial triples to surge into a 23-point lead, with only Ousman Krubally keeping the visitors in the game on his way to a 27-point haul.

Dragons led 82-50 at the final break but there was no let-up for Leopards in the final stanza as Dragons poured on the points, with all their players getting on the scoresheet.

Silcott had yet another double double as he top-scored with 30 points and pulled down 12 boards. Rihard Sulcs made 26 points and Chris McGrew weighed in with 19.

Coach Chris Mellor said: “We played with good intensity defensively and ran at the right moments offensively.

“Overall it was another good team performance with everyone contributing.”

The following day Dragons were unable to repeat the form of the previous evening as they lost 86-66 to London Leopards in the National Cup quarter-finals.

Sulcs top-scored with 14 points, Bobby Edmunds made 13 and Silcott 11 and ten boards, while Raimonds Pabrieza also scored 11.

Dragons travel to EBL Division One leaders Bristol Academy Flyers - who are unbeaten in the league - on Saturday, December 3.

Dragons women climbed up the Leeds & District League with a 59-38 home win over Leeds Carnegie, with Aleksandra Mazjakina top-scoring with 15 points.

Elsewhere for Dragons, Dragons 2 lost 92-67 at Rossendale Raptors in EBL Division Four, the Under-18s lost 81-59 at home to Doncaster Danum Eagles in the EBL Under-18 Conference and Dragons Under-14s lost 57-36 at home to Hull Wasps.
