The National Cyclo-Cross Series picked up speed at Southampton Sports Centre, with involvement from various local riders.
Keighley’s Joe Moses (Paul Milnes RT/Bradford Olympic RC) broke clear at the top of the Junior Men overall rankings as his second placed finish was enough to give him the overall leaders Green Jersey ahead of Alex Welburn (Cycle Shack/Forme Coaching).
Welburn is now four points behind in the standings after crossing the line third, 12 seconds behind Moses after a superb battle between the pair.
There was disaster for Bradford’s Jonathan Watson (Charge Bikes) in the Veteran 40 category though.
After snapping his handlebars through a wooded section on the first lap, he managed to struggle and continue to the pit area where he changed his machine, eventually finishing in 19th place.
Robert Watson (Paul Milnes RT/Bradford Olympic RC) finished 18th in the Elite Seniors and Under 23s, moving up a place to 6th overall, with Keighley’s Paul Young (Wheelbase) in 23rd.
In the Youth section, Billy Harding (Paul Milnes/Bradford) finished in a disappointing 6th place with Sebastian Marsh (Paul Milnes RT/ Bradford Olympic RC) taking 13th place. Harding slipped a place in the overall rankings to 5th with Marsh 11th.
