BRADFORD & DISTRICT SEA AC: The annual general meeting was well attended. Members voted for Brian Clarkson to be the clubman of the year for 2011. Our next trip is inshore to Whitby on Saturday, November 26 aboard Richard Ward’s boat ‘Shytorque 2000’. Anyone wishing to book on for this trip should call Brian on 07901-717615. Trips for next year are at the well in advance stage. To hear more details come along to our next meeting on Tuesday, December 20 at the New Inn, East Bierley (8pm). This is our Christmas meeting and features a giant raffle in which everybody brings a present and everybody will get a prize. There is also a buffet laid on. New members will be made most welcome.
LISTERHILLS AA: A member of the committee got a surprise while fishing at Pilley’s Dam when he caught a small sturgeon, thought to have been a pet which had become too large for its tank. The final positions in the open series are as follows: 1 M Mannion 23lb 8¾oz, 2 G Kitchen 23lb 10¼oz. The winner of the Evening League was E Harrison on 360 points, with T Williams the runner-up. The next members’ match is at Pilley’s Dam on Sunday, December 4.
BRADFORD No1 AA: Billy Scott won last weekend’s open match at Roecliffe with 5lb 12oz. Geoff Cox had 4lb 13oz to finish second and Dave Bramley was third with 3lb 10oz. The next open match is at Cowthorpe on Sunday, December 11. Widdington Hall is closed on Sunday for the Yorkshire Winter League. Raskelf is producing good catches of crucians, F1s and ide so will be worth a visit this coming week. Beal is also fishing well for roach and skimmers.
BRADFORD PALS AC: Our match on Sunday is the Christmas Cheer at Pine Lake Fisheries in Thorne. The draw will be at a new time of 8.30am. The fishery provide both keep nets and landing nets and you must use their feed pellets. There are still limited spaces available for new members for 2012. Call Andy Clough on 07810-185862 for a prospective membership form. Don’t forget the Bradford Pals are a ‘rod and line only’ club.
HEWENDEN AC: Sunday’s match was won by Bob Greenwood with 4lb 9oz. Second was Ian Fieldhouse (3lb 15½oz) and third was Bob Hall (3lb 15oz). The next match is a pike match on Sunday, November 27, with a 9am draw in the car park. It costs £10 all in and all members are welcome.
BINGLEY AC: The canal fished well for last week’s Christmas Cheer match, producing ten weights over 4lb. Winner G Drury caught three bonus fish late on to boost his weight to 11lb 11oz. Other results: 2 I Needs 6lb 9oz, 3 N Chuck 6lb 0oz, 4 D Rowell 5lb 10oz, 5 T Greenwood 5lb 2oz.
SALTAIRE AA: The annual general meeting takes place on Monday at the Ring o’ Bells, Bradford Road, Shipley, starting at 8pm. Members should bring their yearbooks with them for admission to the meeting. The river match dates will appear on the website at the weekend.
