Queensbury’s Matthew Hoyle made a welcome return to the British Supersport Championship riding his 600cc Kawasaki to 18th place, claiming second in the Supersport Cup Class.
Elsewhere at a windy Croft circuit, another Bradford resident was making news for a different reason. In the qualifying session, 17-year-old Elliot Lodge from Birkenshaw was thrown from his Spike Racing GP 125 machine exiting the final corner of the track, which is a tight hairpin bend.
Though feeling slightly the worse for wear he battled his way to a creditable 16th place in Sunday’s race, showing amazing courage.
