WASHBURN VALLEY FISHERY
Catch details for week ending May 1 – Day ticket: Fewston 50, Swinsty 14, Thruscross (catch & return) 3. Total fish caught: Fewston 163, Swinsty 60, Thruscross 16. Average per rod: Fewston 3.3, Swinsty 4.3, Thruscross 5.3. The heaviest fish caught was an 8lb 5oz rainbow trout by John Passlow using Minki. Fewston and Swinsty: Hot, sunny weather making fishing interesting – first thing in the morning and evening catching good trout on nymphs, buzzers and lure patterns – blue trout also giving excellent sport. Thruscross: wild browns now feeding in the margins on small spider patterns.
LISTERHILLS AA
Last week’s match at Pilley’s Dam was won by S Parkinson with 3lb 2¾oz, which included two small tench; 2 E Harrison (1lb 6oz); joint 3rd D Jackson and W Barker (1lb 4¼oz). The draw for this weekend's open match at Rodley is at 9am by the bridge. The draw for Tuesday’s evening match is at 6pm. Anglers using two rods must obtain an additional rod permit.
BRADFORD No1 AA
The club’s next members’ match is on May 22 at Rawcliffe Bridge on the Aire and Calder canal. Tickets are still available from Simon on 01274-571175 or from Tackle 2U in Bradford. Members are reminded that there is no fishing at Thorpe Underwood on the lake or river after May 31 as the club will no longer have the fishing rights. Gravel Pits on the River Calder is fishing well for trout and grayling on fly and worm. Chellow Dene is still worth a visit with most methods producing fish.
CENTRAL AC
Our first match is at The Oaks, Sessay, Cedar Lake, on Sunday, May 15. Meet at venue 8am, fishing 9am to 3pm. Two keepnets are required at this venue. Feeder pellets must be purchased at the venue, your own pellets cannot be used. All members must be in possession of an up-to-date rod licence.
GREAT HORTON AC
Results of match at Cedar Lake, Oaks, Sessay: 1 Phil Weston 32lb 7oz (mostly carp, including 10lb 10oz fish); 2 Rodney Sutcliffe 18lb 7oz (mostly carp, including 8lb 9oz fish); 3 Joe Sutcliffe 14lb 9oz; 4 Paul Tiffany 13lb 1oz. Next meeting at Great Horton Cricket Club on Thursday, May 19 at 7.30pm.
