Russell Morgan is celebrating after becoming Leeds City under-16 snooker champion – aged just 13.
Morgan, who practises at Northcote Conservative Club in Eccleshill, won the final at the Northern Snooker Centre in Leeds – to the delight of mum Jayne Grogan.
“Northcote have been really supportive with Russell’s snooker, allowing him to play club members and encouraging him to improve his game,” said Grogan.
Hanson School pupil Morgan is coached by Ian Williamson and his highest break is now 53 in a match and 106 in practice.
He also attends Joe Johnson’s academy at Odsal and in the summer will be spending a week at the Snooker Farm in Lincolnshire, where many of the sport’s top players have honed their skills with world-renowned coach Del Hill.
