Brother and sister James and Emma Blaby struck gold for the City of Bradford Swimming Club recently at the Leeds B Grade meet at the John Charles Centre for Sport.
Emma won the ten-year-old butterfly race, as well as going home with bronze in the 100m freestyle.
James secured gold in the 13 to 14-year-old butterfly, silver in the 50m backstroke and bronze in the 100m backstroke.
Isobel Mawson was another golden girl in the 11 to 12-year-old 50m backstroke, while also claiming silver in the 100m freestyle.
Aidan Sheldon completed the gold-medal rush for the club by finishing first in the 13 to 14-year-old 100m breaststroke, as well as winning silver in the same discipline over 50m.
However, the medal haul didn’t end there as there were three more silvers in the 11 to 12-year-old category, thanks to Megan Lee in the 100m butterfly, Megan Anderton in the 50m breaststroke and Harriet Hoban in the 100m butterfly.
There were also bronze medals for Hollie Evans in the 100m breaststroke, Jordan Tate in the 50m backstroke and Matthew Brown in the 100m breaststroke.
A host of personal best times were also recorded at the meet, which provided a good introduction to competitive swimming to the youngsters, who all train with the Bradford Aquatics Competition Programme.
