BRADFORD & DISTRICT SEA AC: Our trip to Whitby on Sunday has a couple of places still available. Anyone wishing to go should call Dave on 07711-987833 to book. It will be an 8am sail from Whitby. Our next meeting is on Tuesday, February 15 at the New Inn, East Bierley, from 8pm. New members will be made most welcome. Please do not forget that subs are now due, remaining at £10 for the year. All trophies should now be returned so we can get them ready for engraving ahead of the presentation evening in March.
BRRADFORD No 1 AA: Most stillwaters are now unfrozen and rivers are starting to drop so most waters will be fishable this weekend. The River Calder is fishing well for chub at Gravel Pits, Lillands and Cooper Bridge. Cowthorpe on the River Nidd is also worth a visit for chub on float and maggot or bread methods. Chellow Dene is fishing well for the chub and bream that were stocked this winter. Try red maggot for the bigger bream.
LISTERHILLS AA: Pilley’s Dam had been free of ice for two days before Sunday’s match, which was won by E Harrison with a single perch caught ten minutes before the end. The next members’ match is on Sunday, February 6. Some anglers are turning up to fish with last year’s membership book. This must be renewed before fishing. When fishing still waters, members are requested to disturb gooseanders settled on our fisheries, owing to the high rate of predation.
SALTAIRE AA: Results of Sunday’s canal match: 1 John Fletcher (Fisherman’s Way) 5lb 14½oz, 2 Richard East (Trebucco Halifax) 5lb ½oz, Warren Mcleavy (Maver Rochdale) 3lb 4oz. The next canal match is this Sunday. For information and to book on, call Richard on 07815-092966. A pike match is planned for Saturday, January 29. The next river match is this Sunday. Call Barrie on 07917-828826 to book on.
HEWENDEN AC: The Hewenden Christmas pike match will be held on Sunday, January 30. All members are welcome. The cost is £10 all in on the day, with a 9am draw in the car park. The lake has now fully defrosted and good pike and bags of roach are starting to show.
