BRADFORD NO 1 AA

Last weekend’s Calder League was won by Tom Gausden with 16lbs 5oz of grayling from Lillands Farm.

His victory also helped Punky’s 8 win the team event. Second was Ian Dawson with 13lbs 13.25oz from Gravel Pits and Mick Hughes came third with 13lbs 10oz. The next round is on September 26.

Raskelf Lake is closed this Sunday for a members’ match and Nun Munkton is closed for an outside booking.

Tickets are still on sale for the Calder Championship on September 19. This match has a £500 first prize and tickets cost just £15 from Simon Foster on 01274-571175 or from Tackle 2U on Manchester Road.

Harold Park and Knotford are fishing well for carp to day anglers, while Maunby is fishing well for large catches of chub. River Street and the industrial estate sections of the River Calder are fishing well for large nets of roach and Cowthorpe continues to fish well for barbel and dace.

Bingley AC

Members please note that fishing at Coppice Pond is from the bankside and stone platform locations only and not allowed from the bog end at the far end of the lake. The duck-feeding stand/ platform at this location has been constructed to minimise disturbance to anglers and must not be used for fishing. Wading in the bog end is also prohibited. The next match is being moved from Kearby on Sept 19 to the Leeds & Liverpool Canal – draw, 9am on Morton Lane. This is an open match and non-members are welcome. KL TACKLE

The winner of the opening KL Tackle & Keighley Angling Club Autumn River Aire Series was Tony Greenwood (Bingley AC) with 7lb 2oz. 2 Danny Boland (Tricast Rochdale) 5lb, 3 Tim Boland (Tricast Rochadale) 4lb 12oz. The winner of the £100 barbel prize was Tim Boland, who was the first to catch a barbel in the match and also landed four other small barbel. The golden peg money will be rolled over to the next match. KL Tackle will be donating prizes for the winner of the series of six matches and names are still being taken for the next one on September 19. Contact the shop to book on. This Sunday’s Summer League match is at Woodlands (Skylark), draw 8.45am.

GRATTAN AC

Langwith results: 1 M Brook 50lb, 2 A Haley 27lb 8oz, 3 G Thompson 23lb. There is a late change to our next match at Lindholme on September 18. It will now be on Beaches. To book on, phone Andy on 01274-492551 or 07805 239675 no later than Tuesday.

HEWENDEN AC

The next match is on Sunday, draw in the car park at 9.15am. The reservoir is fishing really well with carp to 18lb, bream to 3lb and roach to 2lb. There will be an assignment of small carp stocked in early october.

LISTERHILLS AA

Result of the evening match on August 31, which was the last of the series: 1 E Harrison1lb 13oz, 2 M Johnson. We apologise to the disruption of the match programme, which was caused by the sudden hospitalisation of the club president/match secretary. An outside body is organising a charity match this Sunday at Rodley.

WASHBURN VALLEY FISHERY

Catch details for week ending September 5 – Day ticket: Fewston 35, Swinsty 12, Thruscross (catch & return) 3. Total fish caught: Fewston 185, Swinsty 55, Thruscross 11. Average per rod: Fewston 5.3, Swinsty 4.6, Thruscross 3.7. The heaviest fish caught was a 5lb 12oz rainbow trout by Malcolm Baldwin, using a black buzzer. Fewston & Swinsty: Fish now taking dry fly. Daddy longlegs, hopper and sedge have tempted and taken hard-fighting rainbow trout. Thruscross: Brown trout rising to take fly life from the surface film.

SALTAIRE AA

Night fishing and fires are not allowed on any of our waters. Quality fish in excellent condition (mainly carp, perch and ide), although not the largest known to be present, are being regularly caught at Tong Park. We are seeking more members to serve on the committee. Please take used line, litter and bait containers home with you.
