BRADFORD & DISTRICT SEA AC

Our latest trip to Whitby on Wednesday was a good one. Five anglers had an experimental trip aboard Richard Ward’s boat Shy-torque 111, out of Whitby, to try fishing close into land on a sandbar, not far from the harbour. There were plenty of fish caught, but on the small side – mainly whiting, coalfish, dabs, ling, cod, haddock and the odd weaverfish. First place went to Dave Kitchingman with 255 points, second was Graham Stansfield with 105 points and third was Jon Gregg with 96 points. The annual week’s trip to Culdaff in Ireland takes place this weekend, so hopefully we should have something to report when they return. Our next general meeting is on Tuesday, August 17 in the New Inn, East Bierley at 8pm. New members are welcome to come along.
