Crossroads opened their Naylor Premiership campaign with a superb 21-9 away victory at Clayton, Graham Lomax (21-6) leading the way as the away side carded eight winners.
On this form, Crossroads will be a big threat and tough to beat.
Ladyhill made it two wins out of two as they saw off Pudsey Littlemoor A 18-12. Billy Clark had a great 21-7 victory over Graham Wood.
Asa Briggs A went down 24-6 at Britannia, who had Jeff Goodall (21-9) helping them on their way. Pudsey had six winners at Brighouse Sports A but lost the aggregate by five points as they drew 15-15.
In the Godwin League, the home teams were all winners. Trevor Benn (21-5) helped Wyke A to 22-8 victory over Brighouse Sports B while Crossgates eased to 28-2 over Bramley Libs A, with Dave Tinker 21-0 in superb form.
Spen Victoria A beat their B team in style with a 25-5 victory, which included a 21-6 win for Peter Senior. Rufford A beat Guiseley A 20-10 in a keenly-contested local derby.
Tyersal A found it tough going as they were destroyed 30-0 at Pudsey Littlemoor B in the Observer League.
Littlemoor have a strong second team, and surely will be championship favorites, as they carded five single-figure winners against sorry Tyersal.
It was a mixed day for Woodside's new recruits, Graham Cherry losing 21-8 to Joan Spence, while Brian Dowling won 21-5 against Phil Wall. The away team recorded a 17-13 victory at Low Moor Harold.
Wibsey A had Malcolm Wilkinson (21-7) and Michael Gill (21-8) to thank as they won 19-11 at Peel A. Bill Smalley (21-9) and Les Law (21-9) helped Queensbury A to a surprise 21-9 victory over Salts A.
In the Bartle League, Greengates had a stunning 29-1 win over Stanningley, with Malcolm Grainger (21-1) in terrific form. Pudsey B beat Oakenshaw A 24-6, Jeff Ramsden leading the way with 21-6 victory.
Mick Dickinson (21-7) helped Drighlington A to a 20-10 win at Bramley Libs B.
Nino Esposito is wasted in this league as he eased to 21-5 to help Lister A beat West 20-10. Brian Jennings showed his class in a 21-5 win for Crowghyll A, as they beat Clayton B 20-10.
Pudsey Britannia B have opened up a 14-point gap already at the top of the Haigh League, as they had a superb 21-9 victory at Asa Briggs B, only dropping 13 points.
A vintage performance from Henry Lee (21-4) helped West Bradford A to a thumping 28-2 victory over Armley Cons in the Riley League. Bob Hanson (21-2) was also in form.
Nine winners for Pudsey C helped them to a 25-5 win over Harold Park.
In the Field Packaging League, Brian Tordoff (21-4) helped Shelf A to a 24-6 win over Horton B. Relegated to the B team, Stuart Tennant showed he wants his place back in the A team with a 21-5 win, helping Horsforth Woodside B to a 20-10 win over Crowghyll B.
Peel C had a great 25-5 win in the Mellor League, Ken Midgley (21-5), Arthur Schofield (21-3) and John Panton (21-5) leading the way in their defeat of West Bradford B. Jean Briggs of Horton C helped reduce the deficit with a 21-6 win as her team lost 23-7 at Oakenshaw B, who had George Woodhead (21-4), John Emmott (21-2), Peter Linfoot (21-4) and Harry Brookes 21-7 all in terrific form.
Queensbury C carded six single-figure winners at Shipley Club in their 25-5 away victory in the Moorhouse League , while West Royd had a great 29-1 success over Lister C thanks to great performances from Vic Thornes (21-6), Geoff Lacey (21-3), Eddie Stead (21-5) and Eric Bradley 21-5.
The Veterans Inter-District League started on Friday with Bradford taking on West Riding.
Both teams had four winners each in both the home and away legs, with Brian Jennings (21-2), Jim Fleming (21-11), Alan Standing (21-12) and Peter Walker (21-18) winning at home, and Bob Baines (21-14), Graham Oliver (21-14), Tom Sunter (21-19) and Tony Brocksom (21-20) winning away.
Bradford lost the home match 124-127 and the away match 149-151.
- The Bradford Pairs Merit, due to take place on Sunday May 14 at Horton Park, has been postponed. A re-arranged date has yet to be confirmed.
