LISTERHILLS AA: The working party at Pilley’s Dam was poorly attended but a considerable amount was achieved. The draw for Sunday’s match is at 8.45am. Members must carry their membership book at all times when fishing club waters. Camping is not allowed and only members who have obtained a night permit are allowed on the bank during the hours of darkness. Permits cost £5 and are available by post from the president. Enclose a SAE and current membership number. Catches from the canal comprise mostly skimmers and from Pilley’s small fish with a few quality perch.

WASHBURN VALLEY: The heaviest fish caught this week was a 7lb rainbow by Robert Bradley using Dawson’s Olive. Fewston and Swinsty: Both reservoirs are fishing excellently, with pre-season stocking very good. Trout are in top condition, taking lures and buzzer patterns. Thruscross: Small brown are tempted on small buzzers and spider patterns. Catch details for week ending March 28 – Day ticket: Fewston 39, Swinsty 7, Thruscross (catch and return) 1. Total fish caught: Fewston 214, Swinsty 50, Thruscross 2. Average per rod: Fewston 5.5, Swinsty 7.1, Thruscross (2.0).

BRADFORD & DISTRICT SEA AC: Last Sunday’s trip to Hartlepool had to be cancelled because of bad weather. A further visit to the same venue will be arranged for next month. Our next general meeting will be on Tuesday, April 20 at Girlington Conservative Club on Thornton Road (8pm). New members will be made most welcome.

BRADFORD No 1 AA: The rivers are now open for fly and worm fishing for trout. Waters worth a try are Ben Rhydding, Addingham, Broughton and the Brighouse stretches of the River Calder. Raskelf Lake is fishing well for mixed bags. Would existing members please note they have until December 31 to renew their books.

HEWENDEN AC: It was decided at our AGM to keep the subscription cost the same as last year. A number of bream up to 2lb have just been stocked. The platforms in the wood are very dangerous and it is advised that members do not use them.

UNITY AA: When the water warms up, Dyehouse Dam should start fishing well for small carp, tench, roach crucean carp and chub. Membership for 2010 costs £13 for adults and £9 for OAPs and juniors.
