Volunteers are required for Sunday working party at Pilley’s Dam, meet on the bankside at 8.30am. Yesterday was the first day of the trout season. The only permitted baits on rivers are fly, worm and artificials and spinners. No keep nets to be used on rivers until June 16. The present Environment Agency rod licence expires on Wednesday – remember to renew it. Members fishing club waters are asked not to let children wander around during the school holidays. The next match is on Sunday, April 4.

BRADFORD CITY AC

Any member who has not yet renewed their membership for 2010 must do so by next Wednesday, otherwise a joining fee will be required. Membership may be renewed at most tackle shops or on line at www.bradfordcityac.co.uk. The next match is on Sunday on the small lake at Staveley. Tickets are £12 all in and are available from the match secretary on 07875-275749, meet at the lakeside for 8.30am draw.

The trout season started yesterday. Anglers may fish for trout on the rivers using worm, minnow, artificial fly or lure but not maggots.

Environment Agency rod licences for 2010 expire next Wednesday, and 2011 rod licences are on sale from post offices, online or by telephone on 0844-8005386 (8.30am-8pm daily) but are not valid for fishing before April 1.
