The River Aire was low and clear for the latest match at Steeton. Fishing conditions were hard but some nice fish were caught. The results were: 1 Ian Needs (Bingley AC) 5lb 6oz, 2 Brian Leonard (Bingley AC) 3lb 4oz, 3 Dave Rowell (Bingley AC) 2lb 7oz. Winning peg was No 9 and the catch was made up of five grayling, taken on float-fished maggot. Next match is on February 28 (8.45am draw on Steeton bridge). Our trip to Hartlepool last Saturday was postponed owing to heavy swells with a north-easterly wind. This trip will be re-arranged for March, date to be confirmed next week. Our next meeting is our buffet-presentation evening on March 16 (8pm) in the Girlington Conservative Club on Thornton Road. New members will be made most welcome.
BRADFORD CITY AA
The River Ure at Boroughbridge is fishing well for roach, perch and bream. Match weights are in excess of 20lb. Worm and groundbait feeder are the best for good day’s fishing. Members please note that the River Aire at Myrtle Park will be closed this Sunday for a committee match. Committee members are asked to meet at 9am by the bridge.
