Keighley’s Mary Fuller has picked up another Premier Division runners-up berth.
Just a week after helping Draycott & Long Eaton to second place in the Women’s British Table Tennis League in Doncaster, the 17-year-old was part of the Grantham-based Cliffedale Chandlers team that finished runners-up in the British Junior Table Tennis League.
Each weekend involved five matches, Fuller showing her mental and physical capacity.
Draycott & Long Eaton held a one-point lead going into the final day over Ormesby, but the latter had two 6-0 victories, while Fuller’s team drew their final match against Astor Ladies.
Fuller won 12 and lost eight of her 20 matches in the Women’s Premier League and is hoping to play for the same club next season.
This coming weekend, Mary is off to Sweden for the Safires International Open with an England girls’ team.
