KEIGHLEY AC: Fred Farrington won Saturday’s annual committee match at Kildwick with a 1lb 3oz catch of two grayling. Other results: 2 Jeff Noon 1lb (two grayling), 3 Richard Young 12½oz (one grayling), 4 John Myers 5½oz (one grayling and one bullhead). Most fish were caught on a stick float and maggot approach but more fish shed the hook than were landed. Steve Parker is running a match on the river at Steeton this Sunday. Contact him on 01535-648793 for details. Entry is £13 and everyone is welcome. You do not need to be a member of KAC to enter the match.The draw is at 8.45am on the bridge at Steeton. Grayling and chub are still being caught despite the cold weather and pegs at Steeton and Kildwick are producing the best catches. Best baits to use are maggot on float and ledgered bread.
LISTERHILLS AA: The last match was transferred to the canal but catches were on the light side. There was a tie for first place between D Jackson and E Harrison. In answer to several enquiries, the size of the 500 barbel stocked into the River Aire at Apperley Bridge was between six and 12 inches. It is expected to take a few years before these produce results. Any information as to their progress would be appreciated.
BRADFORD & DISTRICT SEA AC: People who are booked to go on the trip to Hartlepool on Saturday should ring David Taylor on 07926-411103 at 7.30 Friday evening for a weather report and travel arrangements. BRADFORD No 1 AA: There are still tickets left for Sunday’s match at Cowthorpe. Ring S Foster on 01274-571175 or Wibsey Angling on 01274-604542 for details. Gratrix Lake continues to fish reasonably well and the River Wharfe at Addingham is fishing well for grayling.
HEWENDEN AC: The winner of Sunday’s pike match was S Hawksworth with 14lb 10oz. The next match is this Sunday, meeting in the car park for a 9.15am draw. Would members please park on the bottom car park to the designated numbers.
BINGLEY AC: The River Aire at Myrtle Park in Bingley will be closed on Sunday, February 21 for a committee-only match.
