ECCLESHILL AS

Calum Evans was the easy winner of our latest match held at Langwith, putting together a 36lb bag of carp on a day when most anglers struggled to get a fish. Results: 1 C Evans 36lb, 2 C Drake 23lb1oz, 3 N Atkins 18lb. Club member Tony Dempsey – having an enforced rest suffering from white knuckle syndrome, due to his over-enthusiastic use of his tills in the pre-Christmas rush – decided to use his spare time engaged in a spot of barbel fishing. He took along Becky, hoping to impress her with his angling skills. Four hours later, still without a bite, Tony decided to take a walk, Becky takes her chance, fine tunes his tackle, changes his bait, then casts to an overhanging tree. Result, 10lb 1oz barbel! Look and learn Tony. Next match is on Tuesday, December 30 at Langwith, on Kevin’s and Bethany’s lakes, draw 9am. See Dave in the shop to book.
