Former Bradford diving coach Andy Banks has won a national award.
Banks, who coaches Tom Daley and Tonia Couch at Plymouth and set up the UK’s first ever full-time local authority diving programme in Bradford, won Performance Development Coach of the Year at the UK Coaching Awards at a plush ceremony at the Dorchester Hotel in London tonight, which was attended by Princess Anne.
Meanwhile, Leeds Metropolitan University won the Coaching Environment of the Year category.
British Swimming was Governing Body of the Year.
