The Dragons made the short journey across Bradford to play EBL Division Three rivals Bradford Maroons at their Parkside court.

In a noisy sports hall, both teams traded early baskets but despite two treys from bench player Angelo Korniecki before the buzzer, it was Maroons who finished the first quarter 23-21 ahead.

Maroons also took the second quarter, with Paul Adomaites hitting 17 points in the game to go in 42-35 at the half.

A blistering half-time team-talk by coach Chris Mellor had its effect as Dragons came out in the third quarter looking like a team desperate to win.

In an intense defensive quarter, Dragons closed down Adomaites and restricted the Maroons offence to eight points as they pulled the game back to 49-50 at the end of the third quarter.

Dragons stepped up the pace again in the final quarter with some fluent inside moves and outside shooting against a tiring Maroons team to take the game 73-67.

Top scorers for Dragons were Daumants Pabrieza 17, Istvan Dohar 15, Valdis Karavalis 13.
