St Bede's duo Aimee Teteris and Leanna MacLean both showed winning form in the Amsterdam Open at the historic but renovated 1928 Olympic Stadium.

Teteris clocked 2min 3.69sec to clinch the 800 metres A race, passing the pacemaker and confidently leading the field from over 400m out, while MacLean took the B event in 2min 6.59sec.

Two days earlier, during the Olympic meeting' at Thessaloniki, Teteris had achieved a season's best of 2min 0.85sec.

A few days later, MacLean knocked over two seconds off her lifetime best with 2min 4.19sec at the Dutch meeting in Uden.

Meanwhile, Geoff Harris was third in the Amsterdam men's 800m in 1min 48.50sec, while 5,000m specialist Andrea Grove was second at Uden in her less favoured 1500m, running 4min 14.85sec.

The other members of St Bede's elite squad also performed creditably.

Paula McLaughlin was near her best in Amsterdam in 2min 7.52sec and gained experience at the 1500m in Uden, with Heather Hennigar coming back from illness to run 2min 6.59sec in Uden.

A local event in Booischot during St Bede's annual exchange trip saw Simon Forde second in the 7km (24min 12sec) and Jack Verity fourth in the 13.5km (in 54min 20sec).

The 13-strong party enjoyed home hospitality with their Belgian twin club and joined up with the elite squad, including a trip to Breendonk fort, a wartime concentration camp.

Closer to home, the pre-entry deadline for Sunday's historic Bingley Show trail and fell race (around Bingley & St Ives) has now passed.

Entries on the day are still welcome. The race is over three miles, with 575 feet of climbs, and starts at 11am.
