THE top four teams in Division Two of the Bradford League were in opposition and leaders Highdale B stretched their advantage after overcoming fourth-placed Hermits B 7-3 in a tight contest.
Gary and James Foster have been key figures for Highdale so far and both were prominent against their promotion rivals.
Gary Foster has a 100 per cent record for his team but was pushed to the limit to maintain his unbeaten tag.
In the opening singles, Foster senior was 2-1 down to Zarnab Jamal but came through 11-9 in the fifth game.
Hermits then led 2-1 as Andy Braithwaite and Paul McKrieth had wins over Phil Mann and Foster junior respectively.
But Highdale then took six in a row to seal the points, although McKrieth was unfortunate to lose to both Mann and Foster senior 11-9 in the fifth.
Gary Foster has now won all of his 18 singles, while James took his tally to 17 out of 21 as the leaders march on.
Unity A maintained their title push at Hermits C and another unbeaten player was the key to a 6-4 victory.
Mike Stead took his tally to 21 straight wins with a treble, while one each from Neil Harris and Steve Whitaker left Unity in the driving seat at 5-2.
Hermits took the last two singles as Keith Powell beat Harris in five games and McKrieth did likewise against Whitaker to narrow the gap to 5-4 – but Stead and Whitaker took the doubles for an overall Unity success.
In Division Three, second-placed Hermits G faced third-placed Baildon C and a battle royal finished all-square at 5-5.
Jerry Harkawy was the star performer for Baildon as he dropped only one game in winning his three singles, with John Jennison and Shirley Toulmin adding one each as Baildon led 5-4.
But the visitors would not be denied as Kath Manogue and Tim Moran both won two – and they combined to take the doubles at 11-7 in the deciding game.
