WIBSEY fighter Callum Mullen has won his first national title in mixed martial arts.
Mullen, who competes for Sunbridge Road-based Team Fulinkazan, was crowned amateur featherweight British champion at the UK Fighting Championships in Preston.
The 18-year-old student extended his record to 10-0 after beating fellow undefeated opponent Adam Walsh of Manchester in a five-round war.
Clubmate Jamal Raja of West Bowling had earlier started the night with a dominate display in his bout, finishing it with a well-placed punch for a KO.
Team Fulinkazan head coach Mark Spencer said: "It has been a great start to the year for the team. Both Callum and Jamal trained really hard and you could tell in the results.
"On the same day we had another student, Nam Hoang, pick up two gold medals in London at the British Jiu Jitsu Open."
