Bradford boxer Femi Fehintola underlined his credentials as one of Britain's top super-featherweights with an impressive victory on the Ricky Hatton undercard in Las Vegas.

Fehintola beat Mexican Barbero Zapeda by a majority decision in a four-round contest at the Thomas and Mack Center.

The judges scorecards read 40-36 and 39-37 in favour of Fehintola, with the third judge scoring it 38-38, which was enough to take the Bradford Moor super-featherweight's record to 16-1 - his only defeat coming in his British title fight with Carl Johanneson at Barnsley last November.

Fehintola was part of the Hitman' entourage in Vegas and his victory put the icing on the cake of a memorable trip.

Bradford fight fans will get the chance to see Fehintola in action in his home city as early as next month, when another show is planned following the success of last month's Hilton Hotel event.

The 24-year-old certainly lived up to his promise before the fight, when he vowed to "do the business and put Bradford on the map over in Vegas."
