This year's Otley ten mile road race - sponsored by Yorkshire water - on Wednesday, June 13, will once again incorporate the Yorkshire Championships for men and women.
Ian Fisher, 36, will be defending his title but, after a disappointing London Marathon, winning the race may not to be the usual foregone conclusion.
New for this year will be the provision of pre and post-event sports massage by a qualified Sports Therapist.
This would be five to ten minutes to help prevent stiffness and soreness in athletes' legs.
As usual Wharfedale's premier road race will be started outside the Civic Centre by the Town Mayor, Councillor Neville Birch and spectators will be most welcome.
The route then takes the runners through the villages of Pool and Leathley before climbing the first of two large hills (Stainburn Bank) at the halfway stage.
The second half of the race, back to Otley via Farnley, is more undulating but has the second stiff climb up from Lindley Bridge to Farnley school.
The race will finish at Otley RUFC in Cross Green where refreshments will be available for runners, spectators and marshals.
Entries on the day are accepted and the race starts at 7.30pm.
