The heaviest fish caught this week was a 8lb 8oz blue trout by Jamie Wilkinson using sedge. Fewston: One angler also caught three large rainbow trout in the same afternoon - 8lb 6oz, 8lb 8oz, 6lb - on a variety of wets. Swinsty: Nymphs and buzzers taking fish, also a muddler on fast retrieve is working well. Mayfly hatching off but the trout aren't interested yet! Thruscross: Fishing consistently with steady water levels and a good breeze keeping plenty of fly life blowing over the surface.

The match held at Poppleton on the Doughnut Lake was won by Pete Cressey. Fishing paste, he took an all-carp bag for 54lb 12oz. Result: 1 P Cressey 54lb 12oz, 2 S Hargreaves 36lb 4oz, 3 K Priest-ley 27lb 12oz, 4 D Bauja 25lb 8oz, 5 J Pollard 20lb 8oz. The Eccleshill Angling Supplies' Evening Open at Non-Go-Bye was won by David Bauja. Drawn at end peg 24, he found the better carp, taking 46lb 8oz. Result: 1 D Bauja 46lb 12oz, 2 S Hargreaves 42lb 8oz, 3= S Gower, R Kay 41lb 8oz, 5 S Hawkins 38lb 14oz. The ten-match evening league starts on Thursday, draw 5.45 pm.
