BRADFORD'S billiards team ended a run of poor results in the Yorkshire Inter-District League with victory against the leaders.
But the district's two snooker sides, heading their respective divisions, came unstuck away from home.
Huddersfield No 1 still lead the billiards table by seven points from Harrogate, but found a determined Bradford side in no mood to roll over, Stephen Kershaw and his side gaining a 4-3 away victory.
Huddersfield's Matthew Peaker produced breaks of 51 and 49 to lead Paul Devitt 199-44 before back-to-back runs of 29 and and 40 from Devitt added some respectability to the 200-113 scoreline and provided much-needed encouragement for the team.
Steve Whiteley led throughout the first half of the next game for Huddersfield before Steve Wilman knocked in a 35 to lead 103-75.
The second half of the game had the potential to be a mirror image of the first, with Wilman maintaining the advantage, but Whitley was unable to build a big enough break when his late chance came, and Wilman completed a 200-175 win for the visitors.
Scores were close in the early exchanges of the final game before Huddersfield's Dave Peaker compiled a break of 49, but Bradford captain Kershaw responded with 31 to level the scores at 128.
Kershaw had a chance to finish the game with the scores still close at around 150, but his break ended at 47, leaving him three short.
Peaker dug in with a number of small contributions before Kershaw eventually got home 200-190 to give Bradford their win.
Division One snooker leaders Bradford No 1 were on the wrong end of a surprise at Ossett No 1, losing 4-2.
Wayne Cooper opened with a 62 break to take the first frame and, despite a 45 in the next, Mike Wilby cleared the colours to level.
Kevin Firth edged his first frame, but opponent Matthew Samples did the same in their next, while Lewis Walsh had so much bad luck it was inevitable that his opponent Anthony Hebblethwaite would take advantage, and he did.
Bradford No 2, who lead Division Two, travelled to second-placed Wakefield having not lost yet this season, but this was to change as Wakefield also took the honours 4-2.
Boover Singh got Bradford off to a good start, winning both frames against Elliot Glover, but Peter Hamilton and Hanif Rafiq lost to Craig Longbottom and Chris Hall respectively.
