EXCITING boxing prospect Harris Akbar has added two England Youth Championship prizes to his growing haul.
Akbar, a student at Bradford College Boxing Academy, won the final in the 69kg weight category and also collected the Tony Burns award for the most outstanding boxer in the competition.
He is already a Commonwealth Youth Games gold medallist and member of the England youth squad.
The academy were also celebrating senior success with Beeston-based Ismail Khan winning the vacant 52kg English title at the Magna Centre in Rotherham.
Coach Mally McIver was delighted with the college’s double victory.
He said: “It is always good to see our boxers doing well, representing the academy and Bradford. There is a lot of talent in the academy and we look forward to many more successes.”
