Bismillah Karate Club, who have bases in Bradford and Keighley, have been celebrating national success.
They won four gold medals, two silvers and four bronzes in a Shukokai Karate Union (SKU) national team championships at Ponds Forge in Sheffield.
Taking the plaudits were Amjid Hussain (under-75 kg), Khurram Ilyas (under-65kg and open weight) and Nadeem Ahmed (boys' 14-15 years), who all picked up winners' silverware.
And silvers went to Nadeem Ali (boys' 16 to 17 years) and Mahmood Waqar (boys' under-50kg 6-4 kyu green to purple belt), while there were also third-place trophies for Usman Hussain (boys' brown and black belt), Mohammed Yasin (boys' ten to 11 years) and the men's senior team of Ilyas and Amjid Hussain.
Considering there were several hundred competitors in the event, the results delighted club instructor Mohammed Ilyas, who takes sessions in Keighley and at Haworth Methodist Church.
Bismillah Karate Club now have sessions at Parkwood Youth Centre in Keighley, which take place on Fridays between 6.30pm and 8pm, and at Springwood Primary School in Bradford, which are on Thursdays from 7.30pm to 9pm.
