City of Bradford finished a highly commendable sixth in the top club rankings as they won a host of medals in the Rotherham Metro long-course open meet in Sheffield.
They faced stiff opposition from teams such as Lough-borough University, Nova Centurion and Millfield but City swimmers showed their hard work and dedication in training was paying off.
For the second week in succession, Lucy Burnside made her journey to Ponds Forge worthwhile as she notched up two more national qualifying times.
Burnside now has swims in the 50 metres, 100m, 200m and 400m freestyle at the championships in July. She also earned a bronze medal in the 50m butterfly and had four further final placings.
Isaac Ehdieb won the boys' 12 years category, backed up by golds in the 50m freestyle, 200m individual medley and 200m breaststroke.
And Sam O'Donohoe won the 50m breaststroke and butterfly events, claiming sixth spot in the boys' 12 years category.
Sian Morgan's outstanding gold medal-winning time of 2mins 08.68secs in the girls' 13 years 200m freestyle puts her in contention for a medal at this year's National Age Group Championships. She also collected golds in the 100m event, the 200m butterfly and 200m individual medley.
Brother and sister James and Hazel Dawson both won the 100m breaststroke in their respective age groups, while 11-year-old Niki Chatburn picked up the gold in the 50m event.
The club's final gold medal came from Sian Freeman, who won the girls' 16 years 50m breaststroke.
Meanwhile, British record holder Chris Brown came home with three gold medals from the Yorkshire Swimming Association's Open Masters Championship at Scarborough Indoor Pool.
The Sutton in Craven-based City of Bradford member won the men's 50-54 years 50 metres and 100m backstroke and the 100m butterfly, as well as taking a silver in the 50m butterfly.
Brown's daughter Matilda, making her Masters debut, was delighted to get a bronze in the women's 25-29 years 50m butterfly.
In the youngest age group, Peter Kirby touched in silver-medal position in the 50m and 100m backstroke and Steven Eddison, who competed in five events, took bronze medals in the men's 55-59 years 100m breaststroke and 100m freestyle.
All the swimmers train with Bradford Council's Sport and Leisure Service Masters squad. If you would like to join, contact Christine McCabe on 01274- 438791 or by e-mail at christine.mccabe@bradford.gov.uk
