Salmon licence holders fishing the Ribble are only allowed to take two salmon per season. This salmon regulation comes into effect on June 16. Salmon removed from the river must have an Environment Agency (EA) tag on it. The tags can be obtained directly from the Environment Agency at Lutra House; Carter's Tackle Shop, Preston; Varley's in Clitheroe; or Anglers Own in Colne. To obtain the tags, anglers must show their EA salmon licence and have it officially stamped. The colour of the tags is changed each season.
