BRADFORD Maroons are on a high after their boys' under-18 team won a national title.
They won the Basketball England Nothing But Net Satellite Club Finals crown at Sheffield's English Institute of Sport.
A total of 19 teams from eight clubs took part at either under-16 boys, under-16 girls or under-18 boys in three-per-side matches, and the Maroons' Richard Jackson was named as most valuable player in the latter category.
His team-mates were Tommy Dobson, Mark Hughes and Adam Aslam, and the day was made more special by the presence of freestyle and streetball performers and the Dallas Mavericks' Paul Sturgess, a former Harlem Globetrotter who, at 7ft 8in, is the tallest active basketballer player in the world.
The Maroons finished ahead of Leicester Riders and Sheffield Saints.
The weekend was hosted by DJ Rugged of the Urban duo Rugged N Baldy, while Paul helped at the awards ceremony, as did Tarryn Algar, England’s leading freestyle and streetball performer.
The weekend also included the Premier League 4 Sport three-on-three finals, which, as it name suggests, involved clubs from England's top flight.
