SHIPLEY Club A have moved joint top of the Bradford League's Naylor Premier Division after a 25-5 home win over Cranmore.
Daniel Metcalfe 21-5, Graeme Dytiche 21-7, David Jacques 21-7 and Robbie Ellis 21-9 were on top form for the Clubmen.
Brighouse Sports A had an impressive 17-13 win at Eccleshill A to join Shipley, with Hedley Kettlewell’s 21-7 the pick of six away winners, despite a great 21-8 card from Keith Hall for the hosts.
Pudsey A and Crossgates both tasted defeat on their travels, Pudsey going down 19-11 to Whitkirk, who had Phil Cooper in scintillating form with a 21-6 success, while Crossgates lost 17-13 at basement club Littlemoor A.
Danny Towning’s 21-4 home win for Ladyhill A was cancelled out by a stunning 21-5 away win for Clayton’s Steve Wilkinson, but it was the home team who edged it 16-14.
Rufford A carded their first victory of the season in the Godwin League after defeating Littlemoor B 21-9, thanks to seven home winners, Dave Wheland and David Kirkbright both carding 21-13 victories.
Meanwhile, Elland CA&BC went down to their first defeat of the season, losing 16-14 at Brighouse Sports B, despite great wins by James Senior 21-7 and Paul Demetriades 21-9.
Brighouse replied via Dale Dyson 21-7 and Helen Simpson 21-11 to edge the aggregate by four chalks.
Scott Sansom 21-6 and and Glen McCafferty 21-8 helped Asa Briggs A to a 19-11 home win over Eccleshill B, who had Ian Kennedy and Stephen Walker in good form with 21-8 cards.
Wyke A managed only four winners at Pudsey B, but with Peter Jagger and Trevor Benn both winning 21-9, it was enough for them to take the aggregate and come away with a 15-15 draw, despite a great 21-5 from Lisa Rice.
Greengates A and Guiseley shared five winners each, with the visitors edging the aggregate to ensure a 16-14 triumph.
Cononley suffered their first defeat of the season, going down 16-14 at Clayton B in the Observer League.
Jim Calvert’s 21-5 success for the visitors was not enough to edge the aggregate as Ken Brenkley’s 21-8 victory helped Clayton take it.
Graham Chaffer and Andy Wood both carded 21-9s, helping Horsforth Woodside A to a 22-8 home win over Hove Edge A to remain top of the table.
Wibsey A look a certainty for relegation this season after going down 27-3 at Peel A, who carded a full house of winners, Mario Biancardo and David Burns being the pick of them with 21-10s.
Duncan McPhail’s 21-3 helped Hollies S&SC to a 22-8 home victory over Drighlington.
