Boxing prospect Akhbar gets England call
BRADFORD’S Harris Akhbar has been named in England Boxing’s first ever male and female youth squad to identify the top prospects in the country.
Akhbar, from the Bradford Police and College Boxing Academy, was one of 15 young men selected following a serious of open talent days, assessment camps and competitions.
The welterweight will now be part of the England Youth squad for a year, balancing a carefully structured development programme with competing in international competitions.
