HECKMONDWIKE Cycle Speedway Club faced two matches last weekend, starting with a home clash against Sheffield at Firth Park.
Although the clash was close to begin with, Sheffield gradually pulled away to win 83-67, but the hosts won the junior match 31-19.
On Sunday, the senior team went to Hull for their latest Northern Fours League clash, Heckmondwike finishing fifth of the six teams with 30 points.
In the junior match, nine-year-old Bella Naylor emulated her big brother Ben by scoring 12 points, but Tom Whitwam just missed out on a maximum by one point with 15 points.
On Sunday, Heckmondwike face Astley & Tyldesley in Manchester (2pm).
Training, which is free, is at Firth Park (WF16 0HH) on Wednesdays (7.30pm) and bikes are provided. Further information is available from Justin Naylor on 07799-367370.
