RAWDON racer Sam Tordoff earned his first podium position of the season in the British Touring Car Championship at Thruxton.
Tordoff, grandson of JCT600 founder Jack Tordoff, finished a respectable third after previous 11th and sixth finishes – his first podium since making the switch to West Surrey Racing.
He had to fend off the team's former driver, defending champion Colin Turkington, who experienced a quiet weekend.
The weekend's results leave Tordoff ninth in the overall standings with 71 points from the opening three races of the new season.
