WAYNE Cooper and Kevin Firth have been crowned Yorkshire Snooker Pairs champions for the second time.

The pair, who last won the title in 2013, succeed fellow Bradford duo Gareth and Anthony Green after their victory last season.

Cooper and Firth beat Leeds combination Jonathon Bagley and Chris Hart 3-0 in the final at the Northern Snooker Centre in Leeds.

The pair had already beaten Hanif Rafiq and Jason Mollett (Bradford) 3-1, Massey and Jenson (Leeds) 3-0 and Gyles Behbood and Andy Blamire (Harrogate) 3-2.

Meanwhile, Yorkshire Inter-District Snooker League champions Bradford No 1 completed their triumphant Division One season with a 5-1 win at Leeds No 1.

Cooper made a 39 break on his way to a 61-30 first-frame success, only for opponent Tony Massey to draw the sides level after a hard-fought 53-24 victory.

Firth had an early 31 break and won his opener 71-27 against Mark Ball, before following up with runs of 51 and 37 for a 110-0 second-frame whitewash.

Lewis Walsh, who had stepped into the side earlier in the season and performed well, was given another run in the team as regular Mark Slater was unavailable.

He was steady throughout his opener and won it 66-15 and although opponent Ian O'Brien set off well in their next, Walsh then made a timely 49 break to eventually clinch it 63-37.

Bradford No 2 drew 3-3 at Sheffield No 1 in a result that means the Bradford side finish second from bottom, while Sheffield are runners-up to Bradford No 1.

Final standings (all played 14 matches): 1 Bradford No 1 58pts, 2 Sheffield No 1 47, 3 Sheffield No 3 43, 4 Harrogate 42, 5 Huddersfield 42, 6 Leeds No 1 42, 7 Bradford No 2 33, 8 Castleford No 2 29.
