KEIGHLEY AC
Keighley’s opening match of 2015 turned into a real icebreaker in more ways than one as anglers braved sub-zero temperatures on the canal at Silsden.
Nigel Bower was first to make the breakthrough as he quickly adapted to the conditions. Although the fish remained elusive beneath the ice, Bower bagged 2lb 4oz of roach and perch to take the first prize. Tim Bolland persevered to take the runner-up slot. Although the river is swollen and unpredictable, grayling remain ever-present and eager to take red and white maggot. The chilly conditions are also proving a real challenge for pike fishing. The club plans to run a match on the river on Sunday. Please contact match secretary Darren on 07795-243332.
BRADFORD & DISTRICT SEA AC
Our next general meeting will be on Tuesday at the New Inn, East Bierley (8pm). New members will be made most welcome, and would members who won trophies last year please return them at this meeting so that we can send them to be engraved ready for our presentation evening in March. Also subscriptions (310 per year) are now due, so this would be a great time to pay. We should have some news on the 2015 trip calendar at this meeting as well.
HEWENDEN AC
Result of the coarse match of Sunday, fished by seven very keen members: 1 J Duncan 4lb 6oz, 2 I Jackson 4lb, 3 N Bower 3lb. Well done to all members who turned out in terrible conditions to catch a mix of skimmers and bream. Would all members please note that the far bank has been closed to all anglers with immediate effect by Yorkshire Water until they have had a structural survey completed on the bankside. The club will inform members of any progress as and when we have it. Thank you for your co-operation.

Also to stop the spread of KHV, all net-weigh slings and up-hooking mats must be thoroughly dried after each session. The next members' match is on Sunday, February 1.
