CHRIS Melling was beaten in the quarter-finals of the $113,500 (£74,807) Joy Cup World Chinese 8-Ball Masters pool tournament in Qinhuangdao.
Having come through the qualifying stages, the 35-year-old from Keighley fell 13-11 to Yang Fan but admitted on Twitter: "Feel sick after having a chance to win".
In the qualifying at Qinhuangdao Sports Centre, Melling lost 13-12 to Chen Qiang before defeating Yu Longhai, 13-11, fellow Briton Daryl Peach 13-3 and Canada’s Alex Pagulayan 10-9.
Meanwhile, Melling has been drawn against Chris Norbury in the fourth round of the Kreativ Dental European Tour Event Six in Gdynia, Poland on Saturday, February 28 (11am) for a potential clash with Marco Fu.
