BRADFORD & District Table Tennis Association are appealing for help in trying to find suitable premises in which to set up a table tennis centre in the Bradford area.
The Bradford Table Tennis League currently consists of 41 teams, including players who have represented Yorkshire and England in both men's and ladies' competitions.
In the past, the majority of the league's teams came from mills, factories and youth clubs but since their general demise, numbers have dwindled from around 200.
"A new table tennis centre would enable us to set up coaching facilities for young and old alike, " said Terry Bostock, the Association's development officer.
"It would encourage new players into the game from around the Bradford area and would provide a way back for more senior players. The centre could also possibly be used for inter-city and Yorkshire tournaments.
"Funds are limited but the premises ideally would have space for up to six table tennis tables, and the playing area for each table would need to be at least ten metres by five.
"We would be delighted to hear from anyone with suitable premises in the Bradford area that would fit the above requirements. I must reiterate that funding is limited but any help would be greatly appreciated."
Anyone who can be of assistance should contact Terry Bostock on 07926-815762 or by e-mail to terry@bostock.net.
