TITLE contenders have been strengthening their squads in what is a particularly strong Bradford Table Tennis League First Division this season.
Dewsbury Sedbergh, who have added Simon Pugh to their team, have been setting the pace all season with 11
successive victories prior to their crunch clash with defending champions Embassy Police A.
Stephen Horsfield and Shayan Siraj have joined an already strong Police A line-up, and they sent out a powerful message with a dominant display against previously unbeaten Sedbergh.
Pugh put Sedbergh ahead with a five-game win over Siraj but Police won the next seven sets, with Horsfield and Shahriar Masoudi in superb form, winning three each.
Ivan Lewis took the last singles for Sedbergh but Police were 8-2 winners and will take some stopping on this showing.
In Division Three, Fastbats E are making a late bid for the last top-half spot.
Unity E are still favourites for seventh place but Fastbats had a great win over second-placed Pudsey B, and everything rests on the final first-half fixtures.
Fastbats trailed three times against Pudsey but David Adams and Owen Li both won two, Abbas Ahmad added a single and Adams and Li took the doubles to keep Fastbats in the hunt.
